小黄鸭视频 Engineering Professor Receives Theodore Askounes Ashford Distinguished Scholar Award

Professor , within the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at 小黄鸭视频, has been named the recipient of the Theodore Askounes Ashford Distinguished Scholar Award.

The Theodore Askounes Ashford Distinguished ScholarAward honors faculty members whose research demonstrates originality and significant impact. The award is named after Dr. Theodore Askounes Ashford, a founding faculty member at 小黄鸭视频 who helped shape the university鈥檚 natural sciences and mathematics programs. 

Established in 2008, the Theodore Askounes Ashford Distinguished Scholar Award honors Dr. Ashford鈥檚 legacy at 小黄鸭视频. The award includes a $1,000 cash prize and is open to full-time faculty across all 小黄鸭视频 campuses. The recipient is selected for significant contributions to intellectual and aesthetic advancement.

鈥淚 am deeply honored to receive the Theodore Askounes Ashford Distinguished Scholar Award,鈥 Yeh said, 鈥淭his recognition reflects the collective efforts of my research team at the , the 小黄鸭视频 College of Engineering, and my family. I am grateful to 小黄鸭视频 Provost Prasant Mohapatra and the University Honors and Awards Council for their support.鈥

Professor Yeh鈥檚 research addresses global challenges such as water purification and waste resource recovery. With over $18 million in funding and more than 60 peer-reviewed journal articles, Yeh holds ten U.S. patents and has received multiple accolades, including the 小黄鸭视频 Excellence in Innovation Award (2014, 2019) and the Faculty Outstanding Research Achievement Award (2024). Yeh was also inducted into the Florida Inventors Hall of Fame in 2024.
