Bridging Generations of Scholars: 小黄鸭视频 Tenured Engineering Faculty Engage with New Faculty

On Friday, March 14, 2025, the 小黄鸭视频 College of Engineering hosted a faculty meet-and-greet in ENB 109, providing an opportunity for the tenured faculty to connect with new faculty members. The event featured a tenure FAQ panel, research presentations, an Academic Analytics demonstration, and a speed mentoring session. It took place from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

The tenure FAQ panel was led by Interim Dean , Ph.D. (EE), along with faculty members Professor and Associate Dean for Research, Norma Alcantar, Ph.D. (EE), Associate Professor , Ph.D. (EE), and , associate dean for access and engineering workforce development

Among the tenured faculty mentors were Interim Dean , Ph.D. (EE), Mr. Bernard Batson, Professor KC (Kwang-Cheng) Chen, Ph.D. (EE), Professor Tapas Das, Ph.D. (CEE), Professor , Ph.D. (CEE), Professor John Kuhn, Ph.D. (ChBME), Professor , Ph.D. (CS), Associate Professor (ME), Assistant Professor , Ph.D. (ME), Professor , Ph.D. (CEE), and Professor , Ph.D. (EE), who joined virtually showcasing the power of technology in events like this.

We extend a warm welcome to our 10 newest faculty members, who attended, presented 鈥淩esearch in a Flash,鈥 where they presented their research in "three minutes" and participated as mentees in the speed mentoring session:

Following a brief lunch break, special thanks to Tiffany Para and Donna Rock for organizing it鈥攖he speed mentoring session began. Ten tables were set up, following a speed-dating format, with 20-minute segments allowing new faculty to engage in discussions with tenured faculty members.

A special thank you to the panelists and faculty mentors who dedicated their time鈥攅ven on Pi Day鈥攖o sharing their expertise. We hope they enjoyed a well-deserved slice of pie afterward!

The 小黄鸭视频 College of Engineering also extends its gratitude to Veronica Joe, Student Services Academic Services Administrator, for managing the program and presentations. Appreciation also goes to Tiffany Para, Program Manager, and Donna Rock, Academic Services Administrator, for planning the faculty luncheon, from food to seating arrangements鈥攚e couldn鈥檛 have done it without them!
