Supervisors

Clinic Director

Dr. Jack Darkes is the Director of the Psychological Services Center and provides supervision for individual adult therapy, including veterans' issues and alcohol/ substance use issues. Assessments for these services are often done on a provisional basis. Orientation is behavioral and cognitive-behavioral, with a solution-focus.

Clinic Supervisors

Dr. Kirsten Ellingsen specializes in evidence-based therapy for children and teens, perinatal wellness, and parenting support. Therapeutic orientation involves Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and ACT within a strengths-based, culturally sensitive, and compassion focused approach. Specialization includes anxiety, ASD, ADHD, chronic illness, depression and supporting twice exceptional (2e) children/teens (giftedness and neurodevelopmental or mood disorder diagnosis). Psychoeducational assessments are also supervised.

Dr. Karan Lamb supervises child, adolescent, and adults in individual, group and family therapy. There is a specific focus on anxiety disorders, OCD and co-occurring disorders (e.g. BFRBs, ADHD and depression). Empirically-supported approaches are used, including CBT and ERP, Inference-based CBT,  metacognitive therapy, in addition to Supportive Parenting of the Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE),  and ACT.  Evidence-based treatments/assessments for children and adults are supervised.

Dr. Omar Rahman supervises therapy for children, adolescents, and adults with anxiety disorders and anxiety-related issues, as well as with functional problems typically related to ADHD. Empirically supported cognitive behavioral approaches are used. Specific techniques used may include exposure-based interventions, cognitive restructuring, parent training/behavior management, executive functioning skills, and problem-solving skills. Psychoeducational assessments are also supervised.

Dr. Edelyn Verona supervises both Individual therapy and/or skills training group (DBT) for persons with mood swings, impulsivity, self- harm, relationship problems, and personality disorders.

Dr. Adam Zimmer supervises clinical assessment regarding evaluation for neurodevelopmental and neurocognitive disorders, including ADHD, specific learning disorders, MCI, and dementia, among other neuropsychologically impactful disorders.
